易しい≠簡単
「本当のことは易しい」だけど簡単なわけじゃない。それは、自転車に乗れる体験のようなものかもしれません。それは「あたま」でわかったことではなく、「からだ」に入ってくる、という感覚です。
逆に、簡単に「わかった」という感覚にも警鐘を鳴らしています。
「考える」体感が身につくまで、「自分はわかっていない」という状態に身をおけるか。
この感覚はとても大切なことだと思います。ともすれば早くわかりたい、簡単にわかりたい、答えを知りたい、と思いがちです。しかし、「考える」という行為は、答えを探す行為ではない、むしろ、「わからない」を抱えることのできる体力のことを指しています。「わかった」と思った時こそ危うく、むしろわかっていないことの確かさに意識を向けることがとても大事になってきます。
それは、「分かる」という言葉に示されるように、昔は「分ける」ということが理解する、ということと関係しているのかもしれません。つまり、これ以上分けられないものを分けられない状態のまま抱える胆力とも言えるかもしれません。
それを若松さんは「叡智」という言葉で表しています。
分けられないことに気づくということは、言い換えれば、「あわい」を見つけることと同じです。
みえるものはみえないものに、
きこえるものはきこえないものに、
感じられるものは感じられないものに、
考えられるものは考えられないものにさわっている。
この「あわい」こそが確かであり、「あわい」に気づく力が考えること、と言えるのだと思います。
The truth is simple, but is not easy. This is because they are similar, but diffrent in essential. I think it is just like riding a bicycle. It appeared to be easy, but it was hard inicially. Once you leaned to do, it has been easy. As described by this simple example, experiencing through your body plays a critical role on understanding something. Such a knowledge learnd through body is not understood by mind, but embeded in your pysical memory.
This sense of understanding conveys important lessons. These days people tend to want to know anything more rapidly and with less struggle. However, the practice of thinking does not involve serching for answer, but embracing what remains unknown. In other words, easy understanding is dangerous, and a sense of not being able to understand let you find it credible.
Understanding has been considered distinguishing. Therefore, distinguishing is the first step for understanding, but at the same time, the attribute of not being distiguished should be place emphasize on. This needs attitude to carry what you don't undersand with you. The longer you carry it with you, the more intelligent you will become. Intelligence comes from 'inter' and 'gente(=person)'. This provide you with a wisdom. We should stay attentive to between something. The sense of 'inter' can be an art of thinking.
