よみました。
まず、面白いと思ったのは、この本を書くのにとても時間がかかった、ということ。第一作となる「火花」と同時に書き始めたそうですが、火花の執筆は1年程度だったそうです。これに対し、劇場は2年以上を要したそうです。通常、本は、例えば、10年くらいの出来事を２年ほどかけて執筆し、それを読者が数日で読んでしまうと思います。ところがこの本では、執筆に要した時間と登場人物が過ごす時間がとても近いです。つまり、執筆するのに、登場人物が過ごす時間を作者も過ごさなければいけなかったのでしょう。その心の移り変わりを丁寧に写し取っているように思いました。
また、この本のクライマックスは最後に主人公であり、売れない演劇作家である永田とその彼女（？）沙希が、付き合った当初に練習していた演劇の脚本を引っ張り出して、やり取りするシーンだと思います。演劇というのはもちろん虚構を演じることですが、虚構を演じる理由は真実を伝えるためにあるのだとおもいます。面と向かって言いにくいことも、演じることで伝えやすくなることがあります。だから、面と向かって本音を言えない、永田は脚本をつかって、演じるふりをすることによって、自分の思いを伝えようとします。そして、うそをいうことでほんとのことを伝えることができるということ、人にはある気がします。
What was intersting was that it took a long time for the author to finish writing the book. It was as much time as the character spent in the book. This seems to be very unique in writing books. This is because if an author writes a book, he spend around one or two years wriitng a the book whose content is for ten years. But in this book character seemed to spend a couple of years and the author spent a couple of years as well. This fact shows that he had to sense the same flow of time with that the character spent.
That's why the changing of emotion is meticurously described.
The climax of the novel is at he end of the reading. The characters play their roles they used to play in the past, exactly saying the beginning of hanging out. This scene made me feel that playing a role is acually a good way to communicate the truth you have to say, but you are reuctant to.
