堀江さんの本はもうそれ以上要約できないほどに濃縮されているので、ここで改めて要点を述べることは控えます。

ただ、その中でも面白いとおもった点。

本の中に「Just do it」というコーナーに、TO DOみたいなまとめをしてくれています。

そこにはよく、「すべて書き出してみよう」「〜ノートを作ろう」とかがあります。これを見て、僕が思ったのは、言語化する作業の重要性です。まず、自分のやっていることを自分の言葉で棚卸すること。たとえ同じ作業であっても、その作業をする人によってリストにした時の言葉は変わってくるはずです。なぜなら、その作業をどう捉えているかは人それぞれだから。

だから自分の作業のインベントリを作成することとは、作業を包括的に捉えるという点でもちろん重要だと思いますが、その作業をとおして、それぞれの作業を自分がどのように捉えているかを再認識するという点で非常に重要な意義を持っているのだと思います。このインベントリ作業をちゃんとしている人は、作業に対する意味付けがちゃんとできているのだとおもいます。意味づけというのは、なぜその作業をしているのか、なぜ必要なのかを認識し、問われれた時に答えられるということです。

また、堀江さんは仕事に対し、このように包括的な視点を持つことによって全体像を理解するというアプローチをとっているのではないか、と思います。そして、このアプローチこそが本書で学ぶべき主要点の一つではないかとおもいました。

以下は例です。

タスクを全て書き出す。

他人ができる仕事を赤ペンで消す。

残ったのが自分の仕事。

残したタスクをやらずに済む方法を考えよう。

万が一すべての仕事が赤ペンで潰されていたら、大問題。自分にしかできない仕事はないか、落ち着いて考えよう。

飽きたことをリスト化してみよう。

飽きたということは、慣れて余裕が出てきたということ。

つまり、飽きたということは成長したこと。

一年間を振り返ってみる。

His book condences his points to make better than anything that it keeps me from summarizing here again.

But, just to emphasize, points I am interested in are described.

This book has a corner of 'Just do it' where TO DO things are layed out.

It oftens says 'clarify what you are doing' and 'write down on a notebook on what you are doing'. This enlightens me of the importance of verbalizing your work. Visualizing what you are doing are possiblly variable from peson to person on how the work is expressed in words and phrases. This is because different people have different perceptions on their own work even though the work itself is the same.

Therefore, making an iniventroy is important in capturing your work comprehensively and moreover in recongize how you view your work. If you inventory your work rightly, you would be successfull in defining your work. Defining your work is to understand why you do it and to be able to answer why you are doing it when you are questioned on it.

He, Horie, presumably is trying to capture the whole picture of work from a comprehensive viewpoint. This is an approach he is taking when working. To me, this approach is the very much important point can learn from this book we.
